Squirrels Don't Lap Food, Do They?

.

Just the latest routine in the fast-growing repertoire of  The Amazing Performing Squirrel Twins.

Holding with a tail, the Super Sammy laps niger seed from the tiny holes in the specially designed feeder. Mrs G told me this was happening. I poo-pooed the very notion that squirrels lap food.

For the uninitiated, niger seed feeders are designed by Bill 'Very' Oddie (and others) to prevent even greenfinches or sparrows from stealing the goldfinches victuals.

I don't know whether to Grump or cheer. I'm starting to admire the vermins' intellect. But if we keep feeding them up, will they take over the planet?

When they start stockpiling uranium we shall know it's time to act.
